Bringing the Subaru Love Promise to Life in Our Community!
Veterans Bridge Home
On February 11th, Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord presented the proceeds from the 2024 fundraising campaign to Veterans Bridge Home (VBH) at Subaru South Charlotte. This is the third year for this campaign that has generated not only $70,000 in monetary support directly to VBH, but also $85,000 in media support to spread awareness of this non-profit's mission. Last year VBH supported 3,656 veteran families with 8,617 different services across the Carolinas, (1,569 families and 4,443 services in the Charlotte Metro market alone). Since their founding, VBH has served more than 22,000 veterans with more than 51,000 unique services.
If you are a Veteran in need of assistance, or if you would like to offer your support to VBH, please contact them directly at 866-249-6656 or veteransbridgehome.org.
As part of the Subaru Love Promise, we are proud to offer support to this organization!

Spreading Warmth and Love
Imagine walking in the cold without a coat, shoes, or socks. Unfortunately, this is a harsh reality for many children and adults experiencing homelessness or urgent need situations across the country, including right here in Mecklenburg County.
At Subaru South Charlotte, we believe that helping others is the foundation of a strong community. That's why we are proud to support individuals and families in urgent need through our Subaru Loves to Help® initiative. This season, we're partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit dedicated to connecting children with the resources they need to thrive.
We're excited to visit a local organization to provide brand-new coats, shoes, and socks to children in urgent need. By the end of this year, Subaru and retailers like us will have provided more than 130,000 children across the country with these crucial items. These essential items not only keep children protected, warm, and dry but also have a significant impact on their mental and emotional well-being.
As the largest automotive supporter of Operation Warm, Subaru is committed to making a difference. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help efforts, we've helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need so far.
The coats and shoes we provide are designed with children in mind. The coats have fleece linings and deep pockets to keep kids warm, even without gloves. The shoes are durable, lightweight, and comfortable - perfect for active kids.
"We are thrilled that Subaru Loves to Help, one of the five pillars of the Subaru Love Promise, is now a partnership with Operation Warm," said Bill Musgrave, Retailer at Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord.Â
"This partnership allows us to gift warm coats and shoes with socks to children served by The Salvation Army's Center of Hope, fulfilling an immediate need in our community."
These items help children attend school and participate in activities without worrying about their basic needs.Â
"At Center of Hope, we see children entering with only the clothes on their backs," said Major Jason Burns, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte.Â
"This distribution is a timely blessing for the families and children who utilize our services."
Operation Warm manufactures coats, shoes, and socks to the strictest industry standards, ensuring that kids love how they look and feel.
Through the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, we're not just providing essentials - we're spreading warmth, love, and hope to those who need it most.

Subaru South Charlotte today announced its continued support to make a difference in the lives of students in Charlotte and Pineville by "adopting" or providing teachers with much-needed funding to select which supplies would make the biggest impact in their classrooms. In partnership with Subaru of America, Inc. and AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru South Charlotte adopted 10 classrooms at Sterling Elementary School as part of the national Subaru Loves Learning® initiative.Â
Â
Subaru South Charlotte believes that all students deserve an equal and fair opportunity at a quality education. Throughout the month of August, Subaru South Charlotte and more than 630 participating Subaru retailers nationwide will provide high-needs schools with funding for school supplies and resources to help their students thrive in the classroom. As of this year, Subaru and its retailers will have supported more than 750,000 students nationwide and are proud to be the largest corporate supporter of AdoptAClassroom.org.Â
Â
According to AdoptAClassroom.org, 92% of teachers across the country have students whose families cannot afford to purchase any school supplies for their children. With support from Subaru South Charlotte as part of the Subaru mission to be More Than a Car Company®, students in Charlotte, NC will have access to the tools and resources they need to be successful. This is the eighth year of this program. Initially providing STEM-related books, the program transitioned to flexible funding in 2021. We have offered support financially and through volunteerism in areas such as tutoring, mobile food pantries and teacher appreciation since 2016.

Veterans Bridge Home Campaign
Veterans Bridge Home has become the most comprehensive Veteran-serving organization in our region.
How does your support help us help VBH?  Many Veterans earn just enough to be excluded from receiving help from public assistance programs but are still at risk for homelessness - having to choose between a car repair, food or a family emergency, rent or mortgage payments.
In addition to repeating last year's media campaign to help Veterans learn more about the services VBH offers, we will also, for the third year make a donation based on vehicle sales.Â
