Warmth for Winter, Confidence for Every Day - Whitney M

This year, Subaru South Charlotte continued its commitment to supporting children and families in need by partnering once again with Operation Warm® and The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte. Our team visited the Red Shield Center in the Belmont neighborhood to deliver brand‑new coats, shoes and socks to local children. Operation Warm is a national nonprofit that manufactures high‑quality coats and shoes for children in need. Through partnerships with caring individuals, community organizations and corporations across North America, Operation Warm provides more than physical warmth. Their mission brings emotional comfort, confidence to socialize and succeed, and hope for a brighter future. Through the Subaru Loves to Help® initiative, Subaru South Charlotte provided enough new coats and shoe‑and‑sock bundles for 300 children. Subaru team members spent the afternoon helping club kids pick out the right size, the right fit, and their favorite color. For many families, especially those experiencing homelessness or urgent need, having access to warm, well‑fitting essentials can make a meaningful difference in a child's daily life, well‑being and sense of belonging. As in the past two years, any remaining coats will be distributed through The Salvation Army Center of Hope, ensuring that children whose families are receiving services there also receive the warmth and support they need.

Holiday Appreciation at Our Partner School - Whitney M

For the third year in a row, our Subaru South Charlotte team spent a December day doing something we look forward to all year: showing up for the staff at our Subaru Loves Learning partner school with gratitude, support and some holiday cheer. As a token of appreciation for everything they do for students in our community, we delivered holiday gift boxes, each wrapped with ribbon and gift tag, to be shared during the school's staff luncheon. To make sure every educator could step away and enjoy that luncheon, our Subaru team volunteered to watch classrooms. Students settled in to watch The Polar Express while we kept a close eye on things so teachers could enjoy a rare moment to relax and celebrate each other. This December visit is part of a year round commitment to the school through Subaru Loves Learning: In August, we return to campus to kick off the school year with our Subaru Loves Learning AdoptAClassroom.org activation, breakfast for the entire staff as well as funding and supplies for selected classrooms. In May, we celebrate educators again with a Teacher Appreciation Week luncheon, serving meals and spending time with the staff who make such a difference for students. Together, these three touchpoints: August, December and May, reflect a partnership built on care and appreciation. Three years in, this holiday tradition remains a meaningful part of our relationship with the school. Their dedication shapes our community, and we're grateful for every chance to support them throughout the year. This is the Subaru Love Promise in action: showing up, season after season, with heart.

Where Trunks Met Tails: A Halloween Adoption Bash - Whitney M

To wrap up Subaru Loves Pets month with long-term partner, Charlotte Animal Care & Control, Subaru South Charlotte brought the community together for a Halloween celebration that was as heartwarming as it was fun. Delighted to have Subaru's neighbor First Tee on board as a partner, as well, the dealership hosted a Trunk or Treat and pet adoption event that turned a crisp fall evening into something truly magical. Families arrived to find the parking lots transformed into a festive Halloween village. Food trucks lined the space with delicious local favorites, while kids in adorable costumes darted from trunk to trunk collecting treats. The creativity on display was unforgettable — from spooky setups to silly themes, and even a full Scooby Doo–themed trunk for our 'office Scooby'. Charlotte Animal Care & Control volunteers and fosters brought adoptable pets ready to meet their future families. Many visitors came for candy but found themselves falling in love with a furry friend instead. The pets soaked up the attention, greeting children, posing for photos, and reminding everyone why Subaru Loves Pets is such an important part of the Subaru Love Promise. First Tee added to the excitement by hosting games and activities, giving kids even more ways to play and connect. Mix 107.9 kept the energy high throughout the evening, filling the lot with music and the kind of community spirit that makes events like this unforgettable. The turnout was fabulous — families, pet lovers, volunteers and community partners all came together to celebrate, support local pets and enjoy a safe, joyful Halloween experience. By the end of the day, treats were gone, pets had made new connections, and the Subaru South Charlotte team had once again shown what it means to love and serve their community. This wasn't just a Trunk or Treat. It was a celebration of partnership and the belief that when we come together, we can make a meaningful difference: one treat, one trunk and one adopted pet at a time.

Driving Support for Veterans Through the Subaru Love Promise - Whitney M

Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord presented a check for $30,120 to Veterans Bridge Home (VBH), marking the fourth consecutive year of support and bringing total contributions to more than $100,000. Veterans Bridge Home connects veterans and their families to the community, helping them successfully transition home after military service. In the first 11 months of 2025, VBH supported 3,249 veteran families with 9,079 services across the Carolinas — including 1,477 families and 4,661 services in the Charlotte Metro area. Since its founding, VBH has served more than 23,000 veterans with over 69,000 unique services. "Our partnership with Veterans Bridge Home reflects Subaru's commitment to caring for our community," said Bill Musgrave, Retailer at Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord. "We are proud to support VBH's mission of ensuring veterans and their families thrive after service." "The generosity of Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord has been instrumental in expanding our reach," said Steven Cole, Metrolina Market President at Veterans Bridge Home. "This funding helps us provide critical services to thousands of veterans who call the Carolinas home." Over the life of the campaign, Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord have contributed more than $100,000 in donations and funded over $85,000 in paid broadcast and digital media campaigns to raise awareness of VBH's mission. The creative for the media campaigns was intentionally designed to be 'evergreen' or available to VBH for their use in promoting their services to Veterans and when fundraising for many years, saving them production and other media costs. The latest check presentation took place during a breakfast buffet at Subaru South Charlotte with representatives from Subaru South Charlotte, Subaru Concord and Veterans Bridge Home in attendance.

Supporting The Salvation Army & WCCB to Brighten Local Holidays - Whitney M

For the second year in a row, our Charlotte and Concord Subaru teams partnered with The Salvation Army and WCCB to support the Angel Tree Toy Drive. Our role in this community effort focuses on helping spread the word—letting families know how to donate toys and how to virtually adopt an Angel from the Angel Tree so that every child has the chance to experience a joyful Christmas. A big part of The Angel Tree program is the 'Stuff the Truck Event' just before gift distribution begins. The community understood the assignment as you can see by the large volume of gifts seen in the background of some of the photos. We contributed thoughtfully selected toys, both those earmarked for specific children through the Angel Tree program, and others chosen to appeal to a variety of ages just in case an angel's wishlist doesn't materialize. Both our Charlotte and Concord locations collaborate on this initiative, demonstrating what the Subaru Love Promise looks like in action: showing up, supporting our partners and helping ensure that local families are provided for over the holidays. We captured some great photos from that very chilly Stuff the Truck event. A lot of bundled-up smiles and the shared glow of holiday spirit.

A Record-Breaking Day of Care for Charlotte's Pets - Whitney M

On October 11, 2025, Subaru South Charlotte proudly supported Charlotte‑Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control's annual Subaru Loves Pets Megaclinic — a drive‑through event that made history for the number of pets and families served in a single day. This year's clinic was designed to remove every barrier to access. Families never had to leave their vehicles as CMACC's veterinary team provided free rabies vaccinations, core vaccines, microchips, and wellness checks to pets across the Charlotte community. The turnout was extraordinary, with a record number of pets served — a clear sign of how essential these services are for families who want to keep their animals healthy and safe. Thanks to the support of Subaru South Charlotte and other community partners, the clinic was fully funded and widely promoted. Subaru South Charlotte contributed an $8,000 grant to help cover event preparation, supplies, and outreach, ensuring that every family who needed help knew where to find it. Throughout the day, CMACC's team delivered! A record breaking number of rabies vaccines were provided. Traffic backups indicated that the need for these free or reduced fee services are growing in the county. The clinic embodied the heart of the Subaru Love Promise: meeting people where they are, removing barriers to care, and strengthening the bond between pets and the families who love them. We're grateful for our long‑standing partnership and proud to provide a clinic that brings health, safety, and peace of mind to so many in our community.

A Decade of Showing Up for Sterling Elementary - Whitney M

This year marked a meaningful milestone for Subaru South Charlotte — our 10th year partnering with Sterling Elementary School through Subaru Loves Learning. Over the past decade, our commitment has grown into something truly special: 57 classrooms supported, 1,475 students reached, and $31,500 invested in the tools and resources teachers need to help their students thrive. A few days before students returned for this school year, our team visited Sterling to help the staff kick off the year with encouragement and care. We brought a full breakfast spread—egg casseroles, Starbucks coffee, pastries, fresh fruit, and juices—to give teachers a warm start as they prepared their classrooms. After breakfast, we met with the teachers whose classrooms we adopted this year. In 2025, Subaru South Charlotte funded 10 classrooms, providing $6,200 in total support through AdoptAClassroom.org and school supply kits. Each teacher received a $500 shopping certificate to choose the materials that best meet their students' needs, along with a curated box of essential supplies—items educators often purchase out of their own pockets. Sterling Elementary continues to be a school community we're honored to stand beside. Their educators show up with heart and a deep commitment to their students. Supporting them remains one of the most meaningful expressions of the Subaru Love Promise. "Financial support from Subaru to the teachers at Sterling will have a direct and meaningful impact on students' learning experiences and academic success. Many teachers often spend their own money to provide essential materials, from notebooks and art supplies. By easing this burden, Subaru's contribution allows educators to focus more on teaching and less on resource limitations. Subaru's investment in classroom resources is an investment in the future of Sterling elementary students-empowering teachers, supporting families, and strengthening the entire school community..." Jean Konzelmann, Assistant Principal Ten years in we're still grateful for every opportunity to invest in their students, celebrate their teachers, and help create classrooms where every child feels equipped to learn and succeed.

Delivering Warmth and Hope for 10 Years - Whitney M

For the tenth year, Subaru of America and Subaru South Charlotte partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to bring warmth, comfort, and hope to people in our community facing cancer. This year's Subaru Loves to Care delivery brought warm blankets, patient care kits, and handwritten Messages of Hope to patients receiving treatment at Oncology Specialists of Charlotte in Pineville. During the visit, Wanda Musgrave shared what this decade-long partnership has meant. Over the years, Subaru South Charlotte has helped deliver more than 800 blankets and over 2,000 handwritten cards, each one a small but meaningful reminder that no one faces cancer alone. Subaru of America remains the largest automotive donor to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a commitment that reflects the heart of the Subaru Love Promise. As blankets were delivered, patients were wrapped—literally and emotionally—in care. One patient expressed deep gratitude, saying how much the gesture meant during such a difficult time. Moments like these are why this initiative matters. We are grateful for this partnership and honored to stand beside LLS in supporting patients and families throughout our community. Celebrating the Educators Who Shape Our Community - Whitney M

The first week in May, our Subaru South Charlotte team visits Sterling Elementary School to celebrate the incredible teachers and staff who pour their hearts into students every day. As part of Subaru Loves Learning, we delivered and served a special appreciation luncheon for just over 100 staff members, providing enough food to ensure everyone was cared for. Sterling Elementary has become one of those places that always feels like home when we walk through the doors. Whether we're there for Teacher Appreciation Week in May, the holiday luncheon in December, or delivering funding and classroom supplies during Subaru Loves Learning in August, the school community greets us with warmth, gratitude, and genuine partnership. This ongoing relationship reflects what the Subaru Love Promise is all about—showing up consistently, supporting the people who shape the next generation and investing in the places that make our community stronger. We're grateful for the chance to celebrate Sterling's educators and honored to stand beside them throughout the year.

A Morning of Meals, Community and Love - Whitney M

The Subaru South Charlotte team spent the morning with our longtime partner Nourish Up, celebrating another year of the Subaru Share the Love Event. We were proud to present a $73,000 donation, bringing our total support since 2017 to more than $386,000. Every dollar helps Nourish Up feed neighbors who might otherwise go without. But the best part of the day wasn't the check, it was the work we got to do together. Side by side with Nourish Up's incredible staff, our team packed 78 seven day meal boxes in just one hour. That's 540 meals heading straight to families and seniors who need them most. Each box we taped shut felt like a small act of care — a week of nourishment that brings comfort and stability. Nourish Up shows up for this community every single day through Meals on Wheels, emergency food pantries, home-delivered groceries, and pop up food shares. We're honored to support their mission and grateful for the chance to be part of the hands-on work that makes such a difference. This is what the Subaru Love Promise looks like in action: people helping people, neighbors feeding neighbors, and a community strengthened by compassion.
